Additionally the following types of commodities are prohibited from being imported into Belize: Bearer documents, ephedrine or pseudo ephedrine, political literature, stocks, and subversive material.

Less than 250 grams of tobacco or one litre of alcohol may be imported tax free, provided they do not originate in a bordering city or town. Restrictions apply for antiques, fine art, foodstuffs, alcohol, fuel, cleaning supplies, matches, furniture, timber, jewelry, software, and used personal effects. These items may require additional documentation. The personal goods may be imported into Belize provided they have been in possession for over 12 months an are not intended for resale. This applies only to the citizens of Belize.
